We’re thrilled for this year’s main fundraiser — Hornet Dash! Our goal is to raise $40,000 to improve the inclusiveness of our playgrounds and field trips, and to support students & teachers at Big Lake’s Liberty and Independence Elementary.

Please consider joining us to make the day a success. Sign up to volunteer here. Background checks are required by each school, so volunteer registration is due by Monday, May 18. If you have had a background check performed by the schools in the last three years, you are good to go!
Hornet Dash Event Day Details
AT INDEPENDENCE:
Want to attend the Hornet Dash at Indy on May 22? Please click here to register by Monday, May 18, if you plan to join! Registering in advance speeds up check-in, and valid IDs are required. You can also use this link to register to join your student(s) for a picnic lunch, too!
Click here for a map of the school grounds, where you will see two options for parking, the registration table where check-in will happen, and the event entrance. Visitors will not be allowed in the building at any point, and outdoor toilets are available.

Student Dress & Materials: We recommend that you have your child apply sunscreen prior to coming to school that day as they will spend the majority of their time outside. You may also send sunscreen along for them to reapply. All dress code expectations still apply on this day with the exception that students may wear hats. Students should have footwear and clothes that allow them to run and participate in events. We recommend that students dress in layers as it tends to be chillier in the mornings, but often will heat up throughout the day. Please ensure your child comes with a water bottle so they can stay hydrated throughout the day.
AT LIBERTY:
If you plan to attend the Hornet Dash, please click here to complete the registration form. The form allows you to register up to four guests. We kindly ask that all registrations be completed by Monday, May 18th, as registering in advance helps make the check-in process faster and smoother.

Student Dress & Materials: Please apply sunscreen before school, as students will be outside for this event. Hats are allowed for this event. Students should wear comfortable clothing and shoes for activities, dress in layers, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
