Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4–8, 2026) is a special time for Big Lake to celebrate the incredible teachers who inspire, support, and guide our students every day. Their dedication, creativity, and care make a lasting impact in our classrooms and our community, and this week is all about showing our gratitude for everything they do.

Families, you are invited to join in the celebration in a couple of fun and meaningful ways!

• Tuesday, May 5: Turn in your finished Teacher Appreciation flyers (download the flyer here). Students who hand in their flyer will be entered to win a $20 McDonald’s gift card - one for Liberty and one for Independence!

• Thursday, May 7: Students, dress up like your teacher! Parents and caregivers, we’ll also invite you to celebrate by contributing treats for staff to enjoy. Keep an eye out for a SignUpGenius link coming soon with opportunities to sign up and participate!
